Hard Work and Big Dreams
Mike and Nicole DiGirolamo come from a long line of Real Estate professionals, property investors, architects, contractors, and tradesmen. In 2012 they began putting their passions to work on the first multi-family home and have been investing, renovating, and designing spaces ever since.
Mike Had a Dream…
At 16 years old, Mike was gifted a copy of Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki, which inspired the desire to own his own business one day. For nine years, he worked in retail while saving up money to purchase his first multi-family rental in 2012. Forced to become the handyman in addition to the landlord, he turned to YouTube whenever a tenant had a problem he didn’t know how to fix. This scrappiness translated to Mike and Nicole’s first home, when they realized reliable contractors were few and far between. Instead of calling on their contractor fathers for help, they went back to YouTube and renovated their house by themselves.
The process was enjoyable, and Mike decided to try out house flipping. He learned a lot after buying and renovating his first house, and after five years, got back in the game when his neighbor’s house went up for sale. Older and wiser, he left his job and committed six months to a full flip.
…and Nicole Helped Make it Come True
A born creator, Nicole explored the full spectrum of artistic expression before committing to fashion design in college. Even though everyone else saw her natural talent for transforming interiors, she continued to carve out her space in the fashion industry. During the purchase and renovation of their first home in 2016, however, her passion for interior design was reignited.
As a fashion design and production coordinator, she was skilled at sourcing materials, coordinating with manufacturers and vendors, maintaining deadlines and budgets, project management, and more. Through this work she also had an eye for the little details, believing firmly that they are what make or break a design. All of this, along with a passion for creating visually compelling yet uniquely functional spaces, played a part in helping Mike flip their neighbor’s house.
DiGiro Homes Today
After renovating and selling their neighbor’s house, they sold their own home and then flipped a few others, quickly building a reputation for beautiful design and superior quality. Fast forward to today and their success has allowed Nicole to say goodbye to fashion after 12 years and transition to DiGiro Homes full-time, supporting the expansion into home improvement. This is a true family-run business, here to serve their community the best way they can.
